John Penny has extensive experience of project management work in Africa and in particular in Uganda, clients include SBS Ltd Uganda, Makerere Unversity Estates and the British High Commission.

The work has included a very broad range of projects from factories to education and residential development.

John has served on the Panel judging designs for the new IDI Teaching building, which is where he met Wilfred Kabbale who is the lead architect for the Jakana Heights project. He has also previously worked with Sylvia Mutungi who is the project’s structural engineer.
